Born in the US, early years in TX and GA. Junior high and high school in Sao Paulo, where I started my lifelong international food journey by learning about traditional Brazilian food and drink. College years were in NY and included phenomenal food and wine in the city. Next, to Hiroshima, discovering the wonders of Japanese food. Then a year in Paris for grad school and a foray into French food and wine. Returned to Japan for 2 years in Osaka, where most Japanese consider to be the culinary heart of Japan and then time spent between Narita and Tokyo working with international chefs to provide some of the best in-flight catering in the world. Side note: met my American hubby in Tokyo, got married in Nikko in a spectacular Japanese ceremony at a 1400 year old Shinto shrine. Thankfully for me, he loves food, drink and traveling as much as I do..

Finally, capped off my years overseas with time in London, where I studied at the Cordon Bleu cooking school and travelled to every Western European country looking for culinary adventures. During those years, I also spent time studying at WSET - Wine and Spirits Education Trust for the Level 2 class. My move to the Pacific Northwest landed me at the ISG - International Sommelier Guild for Level 1 & 2. I started home brewing and judging professional BBQ competitions in the PNW. Now we live in New York and I'm a WSET Diploma student.
